My artistic career started long ago, back in 1976!

But the turning point was in 1982, when I began my studies in directing and video techniques at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In cinema, I started as an assistant to Jean Pierre Ponnelle and Pasqualino De Santis (Academy Award for Photography).

Since 1983, after studying with Carlo Boso of the “Piccolo Teatro” in Milan, I have carried out intense theatrical teaching at the New York College, University and Private Workshops on “Theory and technique of stage between the 16th and 18th centuries”, and in South America at the Escuela del Arte Dramatica of Bogotà (Colombia).

Over the course of my career, I have directed actors such as Massimo Popolizio, Roberto Herlitzka, Rocco Papaleo, Alessandro Haber, Maria Paiato, Arnoldo Foa, Simona Marchini, and many others.

But let’s start from my latest jobs!

I’ve written reports for “Repubblica”: “Earth and water, so our life has changed” and “Last North”, both with envoy Pietro Del Re.

Currently, in addition to being involved in the making of videos for the Téchne Movie Trio, I am directing and co-producing the “ARCTIC ERA” docu-fiction, produced in collaboration with the Royal Embassy of Norway in Rome and the CNR (National Research Council) with filming in Norway, Iceland, Brazil, Patagonia, Congo and Italy.

Since 2009, I have been director of the Department of performing arts, cinema and new media at the DAF (Dance Art Faculty) in Rome.

Since 2010, I have held the chairs of Acting for the Screen and Organization of the Set at EUTHECA (The European Union Academy of Theater and Cinema) at Cinecittà, Rome.

I also taught Acting, and I was vice-president of the S.A.T. (Theater Training School) at the Institute of Training for Performing Arts Workers in Rome (IALS).

As a director, I worked at the Kitabu Project – project on schools in Africa – the Docu-films “Mozart’s Letters to the Cousin” (2006), “Grieg’s Journey in Italy” (2007), “W Union Square – after September 11th” (2008), and I collaborated with Carlo Lizzani and Giulietto Chiesa for the making of the investigation film on September 11th, entitled “Zero”.

For the Academy of Arts and Crafts of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, I worked as a director, consultant and art director on multimedia works.

Since 2002, I have been the creator and artistic director of NEVERLAND‘s international meetings on the use of digital art and communication, an event that saw the attendance of internationally renowned guests such as Aldo Signoretti and Vittorio Sodano (Italian candidates for the 2007 Oscars for the make-up of “Apocalypto” by Mel Gibson), Dario Argento, Giulietto Chiesa for the 9/11 investigations, Abel Ferrara, Antony la Molinara (Oscar-winner for “Spiderman” special effects), Gabriele Cipollitti (Rai director and Piero Angela’s collaborator for the “Superquark Specials”), Proxima for the special effects of Roberto Benigni’s “The Tiger and the Snow”.

Since 1993, I have been the Educational Director of the Permanent Theater Laboratory of Città di Castello (PG), an organization for theatrical training in Umbria, and since 1996, I have been the artistic director of the “FontanonEstate”, an historical event of the Roman Summer.
